This panoramic photograph captures a Japanese family on farmland, behind stacks of wooden crates labeled with “Sweetest Yet,” probably near Yosemite, California. The studio responsible for capturing this work was owned by the Japanese-American photographer Taizo Kato (1887–1924). The original envelope of the photograph claims that the panoramic picture was intended to
show the prosperous life of the immigrant family to their relatives back in Japan.
