She was the Bridge Between the Civil Rights Movement and the Black Power Movement - Ruby Doris Smith Robinson, Patricia A. Montgomery

Ruby Doris Smith Robinson began fighting racism and segregation at an early age. As a student at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, she became involved with the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). She held many leadership positions within SNCC, and organized the 1964 Mississippi Freedom Summer Campaign. Her untimely death in October 1967 at age 25 aligned with the end of SNCC and the rise of the Black Power Movement.
