Neha Choksi’s video installation The Weather Inside Me (Bombay Sunset) is arranged on nine antiquated cathode ray tube televisions showing the power of the singular sun and intensifying this power through multiple manifestations. The sun’s daily cycle of rising and setting not only echoes the cycle of life, but also serves as a potent embodiment of time. The unsynchronized rhythms of Choksi’s videos capture a world in which time is fragmented and disturbed. While the suns rises and sets in endless cycles in the videos, a single separate monitor glows with clouds and in an accompanying photograph the sun is consumed by fire.
