Jorge Eliás Triana was a prominent 20th-century Colombian painter who received most of his formal art training in Mexico. Consequently, his early work demonstrates strong similarities with that of Mexican muralists, as seen in this painting that celebrates the Colombian Revolution. By the mid 1970s, Triana dedicated all his time to teaching art in Colombia.
