William T. Wiley is known for combining multiple materials and techniques in his pieces, often including text containing puns and multiple meanings. This piece shows a shape like a stone that has rough faces and edges against a background of perfect lines forming a crystalline structure. The text in the lower left of this work, reading “ol zenry just don’t get it” and the figure to the right may allude to Wiley’s interest in Zen Buddhism.
