Loom-woven beadwork such as these strips, hatbands, lamp pulls, and napkin rings were produced by Diné (Navajo) and Apache students at the Theodore Roosevelt School in Fort Apache, Arizona. Its administrators sold these pieces to fund the school’s daily operations.
