The clothing on these dolls represents typical garments worn in Greenland in the nineteenth century. The male doll, dressed for hunting, is wearing a parka and pants made from seal fur. The female doll is wearing clothing that would be worn on more formal occasions, including short pants and knee-high boots decorated with skin embroidery and an anorak made from red cloth purchased from traders. Her hair is styled traditionally with a top-knot at the crown of her head.
