Robert Ebendorf, a Kansas native and recipient of a B.F.A. and M.F.A. from KU, has long been a leader in the studio jewelry movement. Ebendorf is known for juxtaposing traditional metalworking techniques with non-precious everyday items to create works that both visually engage the viewer and challenge traditional notions about what constitutes value. Colored Smoke Machine, featuring hammered metals next to plastic tubing, demonstrates these interests.
