Street Nihonga: The Art of Jimmy Tsutomu Mirikitani

Motifs such as flowers, trees, and animals—common themes in Nihonga—are rendered with exceptional brushwork. Mirikitani’s remarkable technique of using multiple subdued colors within a single composition, rarely seen in his known Nihonga works, is particularly evident in "untitled (kingfisher under “Japanese snowball”)."
