This is a page from a book of color woodcuts of traditional toys of Japan. The artist traveled all over Japan looking for old toys to include in his art. Some of his friends even sent him toys they found in various places. By drawing the toys, Kawasaki helped people see how colorful, cheerful, and special these toys were.

Can you gather a few things that are special to you and draw a picture of them together? Find someone to share your picture with and tell them about the things you chose.
