Drawing Studio: Still Life

Janice Atkins features bright colors and patterns in this watercolor painting of flowers, glassware, and an antique telephone set against a painted tile background. Atkins is an advocate for mental health awareness because she was diagnosed with schizophrenia when she was 18 years old. As recently as 2018, her still lifes have been included in exhibitions showcasing artists living with mental illness.
