Grassroots art sites are a popular subject for Iversen. One of the most notable of such sites is S.P. Dinsmoor’s Garden of Eden in Lucas. Iversen highlights the All-seeing Eye of God flanked by an avenging angel in this image, a subject on which Dinsmoor offered the following thoughts:

Here is the eye and the hand looking and pointing towards Cain and wife on the next tree. These are the only things I know of that we have to represent Deity. The heathen beat us on ideals. They have got more of a variety and better lookers, they worship their ideals just as we do the All-seeing Eye. They reverence God through their ideals; we take off our hats to the All-seeing Eye.
