This digital print was created using a Tektronix printer, which is no longer manufactured. This device printed with a thick, waxy medium called solid ink that the machine heated and sprayed onto the paper. Dibble liked both the archival nature of the ink as well as the relief effect created as it sits upon the surface of the print. Additionally, the Tektronix printer could process thick printing surfaces without jamming. This allowed Dibble to experiment with a variety of substrates including tinfoil, plastics, and thick handmade papers. Dibble taught KU professor Michael Krueger at the University of Notre Dame, and in 1998 she produced this print for the Murder Portfolio.
