Street Nihonga: The Art of Jimmy Tsutomu Mirikitani

This video consists of footage edited by Linda Hattendorf that was not included in her documentary The Cats of Mirikitani and reveals moments central to Jimmy Tsutomu Mirikitani’s life and work. Mirikitani shares his art in Columbia Park, Chinatown where a collage honoring Akira Kurosawa—and other works seen in the exhibition—emerge as he explains his process to curious onlookers.
